Take a seat

I love a statement chair and think that no matter what room its always good to have somewhere to perch… chair in the bath room? Yes, definitely, why wouldn’t you want to take a seat while your luxurious bath is running? Honest, put one in there and you’ll never look back.

Anyway, regardless of how much you are willing to spend there is a huge range out there- some that are too nice to sit on! I have gone through my favourite styles, colours and materials to help give you a kick-start and consider what might suit your home.

The simple grey studded chair

For something understated and smart I love this ‘Harlow’ arm chair from Choice Furniture Superstore. The stud detailing on the arms adds interest while the reduced number of seams shows of the gorgeous shape of the chair.

The modern retro

This super modern, super stylish and yet incredibly comfy chair is from Kare Designs. The modern retro look is so on trend right now and will smarten up any room. The classic features of this style are the wooden legs with their angular style and one bold colour such as this deep grey.

The metallic luxe

Who doesn’t enjoy a little touch of glam metal in their home? I think the style is so versatile it can be used anywhere and I really love the slick metal lines on this copper arm chair from Alexander and Pearl. Paired with velvet upholstery the chair is definitely a stand out piece and an item you would want to make a feature in your home.

The shimmering silver

On the theme of metallics this silky and shiny Deauville silver arm chair from Crown French Furniture is a winner. Placed in a bay window this chair glimmers in the sun and almost reflects the light. Its bright finish will instantly refresh a room.

The blue velvet

This dark blue chair is not bright in colour but bold in shape. The sloping arms and the stud button detailing are timeless and can be placed in any room to give an exciting new look.

The county style

For something a little light and airy go for pale pastels and and creams. This snug arm chair with geometric pattern adds some fun to the room and goes well with the light wooden floor and white furniture.
